CHRISTINE SCALFO – PLANT BASED DIET
Christine is a Certified Health and Nutrition Counselor and founded Food for Living as a result of her own journey to healing through diet. She is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and the United States Personal Chef Association. Christine is a strong proponent of the old adage “Your food becomes YOU!”.
“Helping people get more plant foods in their diets…one bite at a time, is Christine’s mission. Most people need to increase plant foods in their diet and reduce animal-based foods, but they don’t know what to eat or how to shop for and prepare unfamiliar foods.
Many chronic diseases can be prevented, and even reversed, with a plant-based diet. Plant-based diets are beneficial not only because they don’t contain the cholesterol and high amounts of saturated fats found in animal-based foods, they are also beneficial because of what they DO contain; antioxidants and phytochemicals that have been shown to prevent and treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease.
